Estela Cabrera, LCSW. Clinical Psychotherapist | MILIKA Center Therapy & Resilience | Encino, CA

Estela Cabrera, LCSW.

Clinical Psychotherapist / Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Estela is a clinical psychotherapist who brings a warm, thoughtful, and resilience-focused approach to therapy. She currently also works as a therapist at Kaiser Permanente and brings strong experience supporting young children, teens, adults, and parents across a wide range of emotional, developmental, and relational needs.

Estela provides support for challenges such as emotional regulation, stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, identity development, and strengthening family relationships. She works closely with adolescents, building strong, trusting connections that help teens feel heard, understood, and empowered. With young children, she integrates play-based therapeutic approaches to promote emotional expression, regulation, and connection in developmentally appropriate ways. With adults, Estela supports them in addressing emotional and relational challenges, fostering self-understanding, resilience, and the skills needed to flourish personally and professionally. Estela also has experience supporting pregnant and new mothers across the motherhood journey, including navigating perinatal and postpartum emotional changes, identity shifts, stress, and the transition into parenthood.  Her academic background in sociology, criminology, and criminal justice informs her understanding of how social, environmental, and systemic factors shape mental health, resilience, and overall well-being.

Across all of her work, Estela maintains a trauma-informed lens and is known for the warmth, attunement, and genuine connection she brings to the therapeutic relationship. She prioritizes creating a safe, trusting space where clients feel comfortable, understood, and supported. Estela integrates research-backed interventions while honoring each client’s lived experience, relationships, and broader context. When appropriate, she also incorporates advocacy and coordination of supportive resources.

Additionally, Estela values measurement-based care as an important component of effective treatment. Clients may complete behavioral health screeners at various points in therapy to help track symptoms, guide treatment planning, and support meaningful symptom reduction—while building resilience and skills to thrive in everyday life.

Estela's sessions are thoughtfully tailored to each client’s goals and needs, offering both structure and flexibility. Clients can expect a compassionate, collaborative, and nonjudgmental therapeutic environment that fosters growth, resilience, and lasting change.
