Ivy Charlie Snyder, Ph.D. ("Dr. Charlie")

Clinical Psychologist

Dr. Ivy Charlotte “Charlie” Snyder is a licensed clinical psychologist with a background in tech, startups, and industry research. She provides a supportive therapeutic space that encourages clients to connect with and express their most authentic selves. While Dr. Charlie practices evidence-based treatments (including CBT, DBT, and meaning-centered psychotherapy), she thoughtfully tailors her approach to each client and to each session. She supports patients in identifying their values and needs, and in clarifying what may help them build their best possible lives.

Dr. Charlie finds meaning in supporting individuals at key turning points—children, adolescents, expecting and postpartum parents, people navigating new health challenges, and those living with grief. She works with teens and young adults experiencing a wide range of mental health concerns, from anxiety to long-term mood challenges, and from recent loss to longstanding difficulties related to trauma. Dr. Charlie helps patients identify their strengths, build resilience, and communicate needs and boundaries more effectively. When working with young children, she incorporates developmentally appropriate play therapy techniques to help them express emotions, build coping skills, and feel safe engaging in the therapeutic process. Dr. Charlie also offers parenting skills training to support both parents and children in reducing family distress.

Dr. Charlie completed a two-year postdoctoral fellowship at UCLA in the Stress, Trauma, and Resilience Clinic, a psychology internship that included training on an adolescent inpatient unit and in perinatal mental health, and a PhD program with a concentration in Health Psychology. These experiences have prepared her to offer a broad and flexible skillset to support clients with a wide range of concerns.

In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Charlie is a mom to a very active toddler, two very lazy rescue dogs, and two very ancient rescue cats. She has lived in San Francisco, Philadelphia, Phoenix, and New York City, and has moved across the United States four times. She would be honored to use both her professional expertise and life experience to support you in making meaningful changes in your life.
